Commercial

Commercial interior design can take many forms. At Heather DeMoras Design Consultants (HDDC), we have designed restaurants, grocery stores, sports bars, food courts, law offices, dentist offices, medical offices, Internet company offices and a multitude of other projects that could all fall into the category of commercial interior design. The common thread shared by all these projects is a need to present an alluring atmosphere to prospective customers or clients.

Cole & Parks Bakery & Café
Victor, NY

Visual identity is an important factor when creating a new franchise. After all, how customers perceive the whole chain is based on their first impression of one location. The owners of Cole & Parks decided to convert an old farmhouse into their prototype bakery & café. The design challenge was to overcome severe height and space limitations, maintain corporate identity and create a dynamic retail/food service space within an historic structure. Working closely with the architect and owner, HDDC selected all interior finishes, provided the custom lighting design, interior furniture selection and developed the retail millwork

Greater Rochester Enterprise
Rochester, NY

Greater Rochester Enterprise is a not-for-profit company that works to attract prospective businesses to the Rochester area. Their new space was developed under the constraints of a tight budget, a fast-track schedule and the requirement to present Rochester as cutting-edge. A local architect sought the skills of HDDC to overcome these constraints and to develop the “Windows on Rochester” concept, a walk-through exhibit that presents the best Rochester has to offer as a business community. To meet the budget, much of the carpet and ceiling were saved from the previous tenant. New, custom lighting, etched glass panels, ceiling soffits, bold finishes and high-tech furniture sell the Rochester story.

The Catholic Diocese of Rochester
Rochester, NY

The Diocese had outgrown its building and was looking for expansion space. HDDC's organizational skills saved the Diocese from the expensive proposition of building new space by reorganizing the interior spaces of the 65,000 SF headquarters. With an innovative plan, HDDC helped the client gain space— and allow for future expansion. This unique project involved blending existing with new finishes, furniture and lighting design and millwork . The final scope of work included space planning and design of the offices and meeting rooms, the restoration of the existing outdated chapel, and the repurposing of an old gym to become a new conference center.
